The brightest by far is Capella (22°♊02′) in Auriga the Charioteer, “ honor, wealth, eminence, renown”. What makes this rare triple conjunction even more special is that this is the busiest part of the sky for fixed stars. Mercury – thoughts and words, Venus – love and money, Jupiter – abundance and fortune. Mercury, if fickle, will definitely be on his best behavior in this company. Venus and Jupiter are the two most fortunate of the planets. This triple conjunction will not only look good, it will feel good, too. So those of us on the down hill slope better get a good eyeful this time. We will have to wait another 43 years to see this wonder again, when they come together at 25 degrees Pisces on the 27th of February, 2058. This triple conjunction (within 2 degrees), has occurred only five times in the last century, the most recent being on the 11th of May, 2011, at 24 degrees Aries. Mercury, Venus, and Jupiter line up together between the Horns of the Bull, near 23 degrees Gemini in the zodiac. At dusk, during the last week of May 2013, we will be able to see a rare beauty in the sky.
